For the August 2015 Perth SharePoint User Group Meeting we have Bhavik Merchant from NEC Australia presenting a session covering Power BI and Hybrid Cloud
Its no secret that Microsoft has been accelerating the pace of their development in pretty much every area. The Analytics and Business Intelligence space is no stranger to this, with new platforms, features and tools joining the fray regularly.
With the official launch of the new version of Power BI, we now have a range of options to suit different workloads, user classes and hybrid cloud scenarios. However, there a number of overlapping architectural options each with pros and cons. This can be quite daunting to the uninitiated and even the seasoned practitioner!
This session will walk you through the current landscape and what the new release means for you - whether you have never taken the plunge, or have already deployed solutions and are wondering how to transition. We will be covering a bit of Excel, Office 365, Azure, PowerPivot/Analysis Services, the Power BI Designer and of course the new Power BI cloud service itself. There will be healthy mix of information and practical demonstrations to help you see how it all fits together, what is now possible and what pitfalls exist.
Bhavik is the Delivery Manager for Analytics, Collaboration and Content at NEC Australia. He is also a Microsoft PTSP for Analytics in WA and assists them directly with customer engagements.
